Meet the Doctor

Dr. Joseph Mascaro
Chiropractic Physician

Dr. Mascaro graduated from New York Chiropractic College in 1984 with a doctorate in Chiropractic. He began practicing in New York, and moved to southeastern Connecticut where he opened the Advanced Back and Neck Care Center in 1986. Dr. Mascaro is the clinic director and lead chiropractic physician at Advanced Back & Neck, as he has been since the clinic's inception.

Dr. Mascaro is a member of the International Chiropractic Association, the American Chiropractic Association, and the Connecticut Chiropractic Association. His involvement has included a role as Vice President of the Connecticut Chiropractic IPA and Second Vice President of the Connecticut Chiropractic Association.

Dr. Mascaro has also received the Thomas Nardilollo Memorial Award for clinical excellence and has lectured extensively on a number of health-related topics.

Dr. Michael Thomas
Chiropractic Physician

Dr. Thomas received undergraduate degrees in both Biology and Human Biology from Southern Connecticut State University prior to earning his Doctorate of Chiropractic in 1993 from the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago. Upon graduation, he returned to his home state of Connecticut where he began to practice chiropractic at Advanced Back and Neck Care Center.

Dr. Thomas has earned his certification as a Chiropractic Sports Physician through post-graduate work at New York College of Chiropractic, and is currently pursuing certification in Occupational Health, through Northwestern College of Chiropractic.

Dr. Thomas lectures on topics such as chiropractic, health, stress, fitness, ergonomics, nutrition, back school, and proper lifting. He is a member of the American Chiropractic Association, the Connecticut Chiropractic Association, and the Connecticut Sports Council.

Dr. Warren Geruso
Chiropractic Physician

Dr. Geruso is a resident of Rhode Island where he attended the University of Rhode Island for his undergraduate work. He then earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic through Life College in Marietta, Georgia. He has been practicing at the Advanced Back and Neck Care Center since January 1998.

Dr Jonne Groves

Naturopathic Physician

Dr. Groves, a long time resident of New Jersey, received her Bachelor of Arts in French from Rowan University.  She attended Southwest College of  Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona, where she received her Doctorate in Naturopathic medicine in July of 2006.  She spent time in Arizona practicing in a clinic that specialized in the treatment of Lyme disease and serious viral infections.  Successful treatment protocols were utilized that blended the use of traditional western medicine with naturopathic medicine.

She has a particular interest in the use of homeopathy.  Homeopathic remedies are used for rapid relief of acute and chronic conditions.  She is also very interested in helping her patients achieve optimum health through very specific nutrition, supplementation and life style counseling.  Her spectrum of treatment of naturopathic medicine ranges from childhood issues to geriatric concerns and any age in between.  Particular interest in her practice are chronic illness such as Lyme Disease, Diabetes, Fibromyalgia, Hormonal Problems and other difficult to treat conditions.
